I have just bought a brand new Lumix DMC-FS3 digital camera. IT came default with a a 1 GB memory stick but i wanted it upgraded so the people in the shop kept the 1GB memory card and upgraded me to a 4GB kingston SDHC memory card.

First thing I would do is go to a different store and buy a brand new SDHC card. I've even seen 4GB Sandisk Ultra IIs at Wal-Mart for something like $25. Getting another card will help verify that it is the card and not the camera with the problem.
