Is this SLR replacement, the Lumix LX5, radical enough for Panny to stay ahead in the camera stakes?
*It’s not the size of the boat, it’s the motion in the ocean.
Here are my two versions (with their current estimated prices) of the micro 4/3 Holy Trinity…. The idea of a Holy Trinity in lens terms usually starts with a moderate wide angle lens, than a standard to short portrait focal length and finally a longer portrait / short tele focal length. Users of the micro 4/3 system are lucky in that they not only have access to truly quality lenses but quality choices, which is unique in the mirrorless world (and any system really). Many photographers have heard of the “Holy Trinity” for various systems in regards to lenses, and often when asked, an experienced photographer will rightly say that lenses are a better investment than a new camera body in most cases. I feel that the Micro 4/3 system has not only a Holy Trinity, but two. How many systems can you say that about....

16GB SDHC HC-SD MEMORY CARD FOR NIKON CAMERA SLR D90
16 GB SDHC HC-SD MEMORY CARD FOR NIKON D90 CAMERA By wardiam I used this card for about two to three weeks and I find it to be very good in the Nikon D90 camera. These cards adhere to SD Speed Class Rating specification which defines a minimum sustained transfer speed for SDHC cards. Patriot SDHC cards provide the ultimate flexibility and storage expansion for the latest SDHC compatible digital devices such as digital cameras, PDAs and mp3 players. I've been using it in my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 for 6 months, during which time it held a lot of pictures and video, but just failed recently and without warning. SD with a bang By Fast Photo This SD chip works great in my Nikon D90. I would stay away from Patriot brand SD cards and stick with a more reputable brand. Panasonic H-FS014045PP 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Micro Four Thirds Lens
The lens is very sharp, has very good built in image stabilization, and comes with a plastic lens hood. I would compare it to the classic Nikon 28-105mm lens that I've been using for years with my slr. 2x zoom range is not extreme, which is a good thing in my opinion, as it does not seem to make any compromises throughout the zoom range. I'm not a heavy video shooter, but this lens is very quiet when focusing in video mode, so it shouldn't get picked up by the mic. While the newer Panasonic 14-42 is available for less, I made a special effort to buy this lens instead of the newer one. In 35mm terms, this is equivalent to a 28 - 90mm lens. This lens is a gem.

Panasonic Lumix DSC-FZ48
06.11.11

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5K made in Japan?
I'm thinking about buying this camera, but I need to know if this is made in Japan? You can not beat Japanese processing! It does make a big difference where the camera is made.
According to the website below, most if not all their products are made in Japan. The TZ-Series of Panasonic cameras are great. I hear so many good things about them. The TZ3 can be used like crazy and sell the TZ5 does the same.

I'm looking at a bridge point and shoot. I am not prepared financially for a point and shoot, nor am I interested in the Nikon D40, although it's in my price range. I really want a great point and shoot.
I'd recommend the Fujifilm FinePix S100fs.

I've heard good things about the Lumix. If you have a bridge camera I would probably would not hesitate to get that one. I also have good things about the Canon G9 (apparently, the G10 was not much of an improvement) belongs.
