I stumble across the Fig Rig while researching handheld rigs. I was very skeptical on how well the Fig Rig would work, considering it is a giant steering wheel. This support kit comes in a foamed bag with all parts except a pan/tilt head so I mounted a Manfrotto 391RC head I'm using on my skate dolly. It seams to be flexible with a central hub that has many holes which will allow mounting in many directions. The light streaks you see in the Milky Way shots are shooting stars, no airplanes this time. Included are two shots of the Stumpy Point wildfire that has been burning in eastern North Carolina, U. S. for some time now. The lighthouse is Hatteras Lighthouse, the tallest in North America. Shooting stars meteors happen all the time all over planet Earth. I have a 5D mark ii and great set of lenses myself, but have have only casually used the video funcitonality and never even considered delving into time laspe photography before. Especially look for them right before dawn (in the film real life), they seem to increase in frequency at that time. Congratulations, your passion and hard work have paid off, your film is great.
